Pentecost Event 06/16/2011
On Pentecost Sunday, 12th June, C2C had a stand at the Pentecost Celebration in Northampton. The event was held in Christchurch as the rain meant it could not be held in Abington Park. There was a great atmosphere at the celebration, attended by a good crowd in spite of the rain. Many local churches were represented, and there was great diversity in the different styles of music and national dress, including some wonderfully dressed African ladies who sang in one of the various excellent music groups. Speaker Roy Crowne gave inspirational talks, and local singer Lara Martin made an excellent contribution with her band. C2C's stand provided hair braiding and nail painting, whilst another stand offered face painting for children, who ended up looking great after all that treatment! C2C also sold a good volume of cold drinks, crisps and sweets, raising funds toward our work. We are now looking forward to our next fundraiser, the Extreme Abseil on 16th July at the National Lift Tower. We will again have a drinks & snacks stall to feed the crowd coming to support their brave abseilers. We are also hoping to have a hog-roast and face painting too (to be confirmed). Come and join the fun! CommentsJules 06/16/2011 05:46
