There were over 70 people there, a mixture of staff, volunteers, agencies & clients. Many, many local agencies were represented & good partnership relationships were formed. We are looking forward to stepping into the next chapter in the life of this charity with stronger inter-agency links, enabling us to serve the people of Northampton in a more effective & efficient way.

We were given absolutely outstanding feedback from our clients, which I really encourage you to read. To me, its not only about the stats, the figures & the abilities of our charity but its about the client... does that person feel valued? Does he / she feel listened to? Do they have hope? Do they believe there is a future for them? These are the important things that we strive to achieve. These are the things that REALLY make a difference...

It becomes more & more apparent that there are actually a lot services out there to be accessed by the vulnerable & marginalised people of Northampton, however, there is often a lack of commitment & motivation on the part of the client to engage effectively, that is where we believe we can make a difference. With positive mentoring, we believe that not only can we be an effective influence in breaking the cycle of offending, but we can also be highly effective in encouraging our clients to engage with other relevant agencies.

Thank you to all whom attended this event, we value your time & input, & look forward to working with you in the future.

Suzy

Please find below the direct link to our client feedback.

Pentecost Event

http://www.c2ccharitabletrust.com/1/post/2011/06/pentecost-event.html

http://www.c2ccharitabletrust.com/1/post/2011/06/pentecost-event.html#comments

Uncategorized

On Pentecost Sunday, 12th June, C2C had a stand at the Pentecost Celebration in Northampton. The event was held in Christchurch as the rain meant it could not be held in Abington Park.
There was a great atmosphere at the celebration, attended by a good crowd in spite of the rain. Many local churches were represented, and there was great diversity in the different styles of music and national dress, including some wonderfully dressed African ladies who sang in one of the various excellent music groups. Speaker Roy Crowne gave inspirational talks, and local singer Lara Martin made an excellent contribution with her band.
C2C's stand provided hair braiding and nail painting, whilst another stand offered face painting for children, who ended up looking great after all that treatment!
C2C also sold a good volume of cold drinks, crisps and sweets, raising funds toward our work.
We are now looking forward to our next fundraiser, the Extreme Abseil on 16th July at the National Lift Tower. We will again have a drinks & snacks stall to feed the crowd coming to support their brave abseilers. We are also hoping to have a hog-roast and face painting too (to be confirmed). Come and join the fun!

Quick May Update

http://www.c2ccharitabletrust.com/1/post/2011/06/quick-may-update.html

http://www.c2ccharitabletrust.com/1/post/2011/06/quick-may-update.html#comments

Uncategorized

During May we spoke to 23 people in custody & offered them advice on their current situations. We made relevant referrals as discussed & requested by the client. 8 of the 23 people seen said they would like continued support from C2C. We also acted as an appropriate adult for 8 of these people whilst they were interviewed by the police.Referrals & sig [...]

During May we spoke to 23 people in custody & offered them advice on their current situations.

We made relevant referrals as discussed & requested by the client.

8 of the 23 people seen said they would like continued support from C2C.

We also acted as an appropriate adult for 8 of these people whilst they were interviewed by the police.

Referrals & sign posting to other agency's included:
City Hearts Rehab
CAN
CAP (Christians Against Poverty)
Social Services Safeguarding
EYS (Education Youth Services)
Lowdown Counselling
JobsClub (Spring Boroughs Family Centre)
Local Youth Clubs
Teen Challenge Rehab

A SUPER HUGE HUGE THANKS TO OUR FAITHFUL VOLUNTEERS - THIS WOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE WITHOUT YOU.

Quick April Update

http://www.c2ccharitabletrust.com/1/post/2011/05/quick-april-update.html

http://www.c2ccharitabletrust.com/1/post/2011/05/quick-april-update.html#comments

Uncategorized

During April we spoke to 22 people in custody & offered them advice on their current situations. We made relevant referrals as discussed & requested by the client. 9 of the 23 people seen said they would like continued support from C2C. We also acted as an appropriate adult for 5 of these people whilst they were interviewed by the police. We do not only sign post to other agencies, but we also make appointments, help with transport & attend with the client if required to provide support & advocacy.
We are meeting up with a young lady on Wednesday who is homeless to look at some safe accommodation for her - we will keep you posted.
All the service users left today feeling pampered, valued & had a full tummy thanks to Streetchurch & Kingdom Life (who were on food this week).
We also managed to give out clothes, handbags & jewellery!

We also had a guy who is a prolific and violent offender and Class A drug user, engage in a really good chat with one of our team, and he is very interested in going into rehab, so we will be meeting with him to talk about that more, and help him apply and take him when he's ready (added by Julie)
